Go read this: myventriloserver.com/blog/volume-normalization-in-ventriloIt totally works. Modified to add a working link. And what the heck, I'll just paste it as well. volume normalization. This feature can be enabled relatively quickly, follow these steps to enable it on your Ventrilo client: 1. Open up your ventrilo client and go to “Setup.” 2. Enable direct sound (check “Use direct sound”) and click on the SFX button. 3. Select “Compressor” and click on “Add.” Use these settings in the compressor properties: * Gain (this is the setting that sets the volume for all users, change at your own liking): ~15 * Attack: 0.01 * Release: ~500 * Threshold: ~30 * Ratio: 100 * Pre-delay: 4.0

I still haven't tried it out, I keep forgetting before jumping into the raids. Damn old age.

At least you know when to shut up. I guess I'm loud and don't know when to keep my mouth shut.

You're not loud, John, you just haven't mastered "volume knob" on heroic. Anyway, doesn't matter now, not to me at least. :* And I'm pretty sure Ordin is saying important stuff, I just can't always parse it all...

The wife told me today that she had to wear headphones because it sounded like I was shouting things like "Cobo is down!" Like I said, important stuff. I want to make sure you are paying attention.

Oh, like it matters when you tanks die... we've got a gazillion DKs for backup, and we're all like, really awesome tanks. You know I love the mellifluous sound of your voice, but here's what Razuvious used to sound like: Cobo: I've got three, can you take him?Rock: Got him. Rock: I've got three.Cobo: Got him.Repeat as needed. Now, I would just TURN IT UP, but I almost always have a sleeping kid on my lap. I'm working on that.

Just a bump to remind people to normalize their vent so I'm not all "HEY AM I HEALING OR TANKING ON THIS FIGHT?"

- Go to Setup - Enable Direct Sound - Select the SFX Button - Select Compressor and click Add. - Under Compressor Properties use the following settings - Gain = Adjust for how loud you want people to be. (I use 15) - Attack = 0.01 - Release = Around 500 - Threshold = Around -30 - Ratio = 100 - Pre delay = 4.0

I had to repost real quick so "Precious" could find it without digging too much in the frostmane forums.

Have to be careful about digging around in Frostmane. Never know what kind of diseases they have.
