At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I'd like to cover some of the things I think we can and need to improve on in order to drop this punk. Our issue with this boss is the little oozes. They just weren't being dealt with properly. The first two people to get them need to get to the kiting tank and just stand there. Running around doesn't help anything. Just stay put (unless you need to move because of slime pools obviously) and wait for your oozes to merge with the other. Don't assume that it has, watch it, stop looking at the boss, stop DPSing if you have too and concentrate on your little ooze and the task at hand of merging them. Once you've seen that they have merged, then get back to the boss and dps. Not any sooner. The merging the other little oozes into the big ooze being kited by Cobo also proved to be problems. I realize the importance of getting out of the group as soon as possible, but darting off in a random direction and then having to chase Cobo down on the other side of the room is a hell of a lot worse then taking 2 seconds to see which direction you need to move and then get there. It caused a lot of traffice jams and multiple big oozes. I also saw people not doing the "button hook", but instead were running along side the big ooze, trying to overtake it and have their little on merge that way. That's wrong. You are taking way more damage then you need to doing it that way and it takes way too much time again causing traffic jams. You've got to remember that the big ooze is going to be 5 - 10 yards behind Cobo and the little ooze is going to be trailing behind you by 5 - 10 yards, so, the targets that you are trying to merge aren't you and Cobo, but the two things that are trailing behind the both of you. That is the reason for the button hook technique. It works perfectly. So, when you are trying to merge your little ooze, you target isn't to run to the big one, you target is to get to Cobo. We've got the gear to drop him, if we didn't we wouldn't be able to drop Festergut, but unlike Festergut, Rotface can not be brute forced. He is all about technique and once the technique of the little oozes is mastered, this boss will fall.

For those of you who may be Football-Inclined, throw the ball in front of the receiver. Don't wait for callouts on vent to start moving. Be aware of yourself and your surroundings. If you don't have DBM, go get it before the next raid.

Barnes: Nice find on the diagram, but if I'm reading it right, it looks like the person with the little ooze is running in parallel with the kiter/big ooze. I am color blind, so I don't always read color coded diagrams correctly, but that what it looks like to me. If that is the case, I really don't think that's what you want to do. Running in parallel will just lead to making it more difficult to get in there, merge your ooze and get the hell out more-so then the button hook technique. Again, I may be reading it wrong, so please correct me if I am. carla (RheĆ¢ & Kyrridwen): Mind sharing what you found? Knowing is half the battle.

Comparing Monday's logs and last nights, I want to commend Zoog. Check the Slime Spray damage. His went way down. He saw what his worst mistake was, and he fixed it. If everyone else can figure out how to do that, we'll have him this jerk down in no time. Also if we all put out Zoog's DPS that would help.

From what I read from the strat is to basically run right to the person kiting the big ooze. Since the big ooze and the small ooze are both going to be about 5 yards away from their respective kiters, when you run literally right through Cobo, the oozes will merge and then you button hook back into the fray.

From what I read from the strat is to basically run right to the person kiting the big ooze. Just for clarity, run right to where the person kiting the ooze is going to be. You want to be ahead of him, not behind him. Because, like, the big ooze is behind him.

Just an idea when things get out of control (say we have 2 big oozes), can we chains of ice one of them if we have a DK, or maybe some other talent to hold one in place (like the blood beasts)?

Not a bad idea, but when the CC breaks, the large ooze will cut across the center of the room (ie, through the raid) to get to the OT, if it even goes for the OT at that point. It won't follow the track around the outside. From reading the above, it looks like little oozes are the problem, rather than big oozes.

I think handling the little ooze was the big problem. We had problems kiting the little oozes to the big ooze. Also, when the rate of Mutated Infection starts increasing I think we had too many little oozes out at the same time which increased our chance of getting multiple big oozes. Is it possible to hold off on cleansing until we know that the current little ooze is merged with the big one? Found this from a forum (interval between Mutated Infections) It's time based, starts at 14s in between debuffs cast, and drops by 2s every 4 casts, with the 4th cast before the time drops usually being a bit delayed by slime spray channeling. I.e. looks like 14, 14, 14, 20, 12, 12, 12, 17, 10, 10, 10, 14, etc. If you wanna read the discussion here is the link: forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=22418943290&sid=1&pageNo=2It looks like he has an "organic rage" as the time decreases.

Could things Narakou. . .
First, not sure if the quicker time intervals you are thinking about includes the fact that he used to speed it up (rather quickly) when he gets down to 30%. Either way, he doesn't do that anymore.
Second, cleansing can't really be held off for too long (a tick or two) because with the mutated injection on the person they take really big damage. The mutated injection is a pretty hard hitting DoT. A lot harder then the little ooze hitting you.
Third, and don't take this as me trying to attack you specifically, just going to mention it hear because others have asked as well, but holding off the cleanse shouldn't have to be done. Even at the quickest interval that you listed of 10 seconds, that is plenty of time for the person to take care of their little ooze. The only reason it wouldn't be is if people are tunnle visioning.
The technique we use is solid, the problem is that it just hasn't been executed properly yet. Part of that is lack of experience with the fight and some of that is tunnel visioning. There has been a few instances where we've had some really horrible luck with spray, explosion, leaking tanks and little oozes, but thats only going to be few and far between.
When we get a second big ooze, almost all of the time it is formed right there in melee and that means someone has tunnle visioned and didn't take care of their little one. We fix that one little thing with that encounter and we've got it. It really is that simple.
