Kroesis General Store (KGS):
The purpose of KGS is to efficiently, sustainably and moderately fairly provide Donkeys and their friends with low cost materials and in some cases items. From a quick look at the standing buy and sell prices it is easy to see that KGS can make a profit. These profits are maintained separately and put toward expanding the guild and therefore service.
The Prices:
In general the prices are set based upon Kroesis' experiences using the AH. They are subject to change without notification. Generally they will be modified to accommodate shifting demand. Also, in general if a material is made from another, just apply the appropriate math. For example, savage leather scrap prices should be assumed to be 1/5 that of savage leather, while Heavy Savage Leather is 5x and Pristine Hides 50x.
The buy price is the amount KGS will pay for an item. In general, you will be able to get a better deal on the AH than from KGS. However, you will be able sell things to KGS wherever there is a mailbox (by COD to Kroesis). You will not risk wasting money by posting things on the AH that don’t sell. You will be helping your fellow guildmembers. If you see that the guild vault is empty of an item, you may be able to negotiate a higher price.
The sell price is where most customers (official and otherwise) will benefit from KGS. These prices will most times represent a significant savings from the AH. Please keep in mind that this is a service to you and yours. Buy only what you need. For example, if Inferno Rubies are 230g ea on the AH and KGS is selling them for 90, don’t buy out the KGS stock and profit 140g ea from them. Buying a couple extra to keep on your toon for that lucky raid drop is fine as long as they are intended for your final use.
The Ranks:
Many friends and Frost Donkeys will be allowed to have a toon in KGS. It is recommended that this toon be simply a “bank alt” as KGS will likely never advance past a level 1 guild.
Rank 4 – Customer: This rank will only have viewing access to the guild vault. It is so that you can see what materials and items are available for purchase. This will be far and away the most common rank.
Rank 3 – Retailer: Retailers will be able to retrieve one item from each tab per day. Contact a retailer if you just need one odd/random thing. They will not have access to the guild gold, so don’t try to sell anything to a retailer.
Rank 2 – Distributor: Got a big order? Distributors have nearly unlimited access to the guild vault and funds. You might contact a distributor if you need a large amount of stuff all at once. You can also sell to a distributor, but it’s so easy to use COD.
Rank 1 – Owner: Kroesis is the sole owner of KGS. As such, he is the guild leader. There aren’t any elections. If you would prefer to be owner, I suggest you make him a generous offer to buy the store/guild. Also, no matter what rank you are, he is very interested in your opinion on how to improve the store.
Buying and Selling:
The best way to sell materials and items to the store is to send them COD to Kroesis. If KGS doesn’t want them, or your math is wrong, he will send them back. If you would prefer to donate materials and items to KGS, just send them with no COD amount. You may also give or send items to distributors, but that seems like extra work.
There are two good ways to buy materials and items from KGS. The first, “Order by Mail” send in-game-mail to Kroesis or a Distributor with your request. Kroesis logs in almost every day. The items will be sent to you COD. If you are in a hurry to get items, you can mail multiple distributors and owners. But, you should send out a mail saying when get what you needed so that you don’t get multiple shipments that you will have to reject. The second way is to find a player online who has a distributor (or retailer) in KGS and ask them to get it for you right then. Don’t be a jerk, they may be in the middle of an LFR or something.
The Honor System:
At first it may be easy for Kroesis to keep tabs on the buying and selling. If this is successful that will rapidly become impossible. Please understand that this is an effort to the benefit of all. I’ll be surprised if someone does rip off KGS. But in that unfortunate event, a “banned” list may have to be put into place.
Thank you and I look forward to your questions and comments.
