Was pondering the idea of dropping Alchemy and picking up inscription. Bad idea or not? I am looking for something that I may be able to profit from. Alchemy (for me) has kinda hit a lull. I am stuck at about 418. I wasn't sure if Inscription would get me any money.

If you're willing to WORK at it Inscription can turn a profit. but these dayys its little more then a way to not have to do Hodir Rep. I suppose there are still some proccs I can make some money on but when dual spec and dual glyphs comes out I thiink it'll pretty much die out except to sell the item to let people switch specs in the dungeon.

Two notes: 1) If you want to make money, you want to do Sons of Hodir rep anyway, because the money is good. 2) Last I saw, there was no "item to let people switch specs in the dungeon." The ability to dual spec (and switch between them) costs 1,000 gold, and is purchased at the trainer. There isn't an item you need to do it. At least, last I saw.

I thought I heard you could switch specs anytime you were out of combat.
As for professions... they are mostly money SINKS rather than money MAKERS right? I mean, the raw materials go for more than the finished product. I always saw professions as something fun to dink around with when you didn't want to kill stuff

I thought JC was pretty lucrative. Lord knows engineering is NOT (but it's fun).

JC Can be. Though I think its as much of a loss leader as anything...
Bob I was thinking about the older pathc notes where they said they were gonna make a portable tome of power to use in the dungeons they might have removed that.
Mike, I need the herbs Send them to me at a reasonable price and we can work something out. I need flaska and inks so lets deal.

K Cool. I have like 60+ Lichblooom. I am not too sure about what else I have, but I will check it out tonight. How about anything I sell to you will be 25% less than market? Also let me know what you are looking for.
BTW thanks for possibly buying the stuff from me. This has been a major frustration for me. I have been trying to sell the herbs I collect, potions I make, etc. in various configurations (stacks of 5, stacks of 10, etc.). Nothing is working.

The market for mana and health pots is fairly low owing to the "one per fight" mechanic, and the content doesn't generally justify using flasks and elixirs (there are exceptions, but people can generally get through most of the upper-end stuff without it now). I suspect the market will go back up once 3.1 hits and Ulduar comes out. People will want the flasks and elixirs to help them through the new content.
That said, I loves me some Guru's Elixirs, Mighty Fortitude, and Mighty Thoughts. If you have 'em sitting around or can make 'em, I can pay you.

anyone with stacks of saronite I'll take those off your hands for a reasonable price too.
