Sorry to hear you guys are having credit woes. Some things I've learned
- Even with the repair and rearm costs, owned mechs generate more money. i think they get a stock bonus. - I bought a Founders package that came with a month of Premium time which gives you bonus cash. - The Yu-Wan-Wang or whatever is a mediocre mech, but much like the Churchill in WoT it generates extra cash per match.
If you haven't bought a mech I suggest getting one of the lights. It took me about a night using a trial mech to earn enough for a Commando. I played that Commando the following night and recouped my money in a night and a half.

We are really ramping up as a clan right now there were 6 people on vent last night.

Sweet! Did you buy a mech yet? What are you saving up for? I bought a dragon, but didn't have a ton of money for customization. Managed to get a gauss rifle into it, but I'm hurting for ammo storage. 9 shots run out pretty quick.

i'm saving up for another awesome varient. I'm maxed on my beginner pilot experience and can't upgrade elite until I own two more basic variants.

I know you guys are kinda done with this game, but Penny Arcade is giving out free Premium time. Also, the ECM suite totally changes up the game (no more getting violated by missile spam as long as you stick close to an ECM mech)

ECM is Electronic Countermeasures. There are four mech variants that can carry it: a commando, a cicada, a raven and an atlas. When ECM is active it creates a bubble around the mech that hides itself and any allies within the bubble from radar. No target locks for missiles. You can also hit J to switch the ECM to jamming mode which turns off enemy ECM in the bubble, but does not offer the radar protection. If you are being protected you will see a little eye icon on the right side of your screen. If you are being jammed you'll see a red bar graph on the right side of the screen. Also, mo' money mo' money mo' money! They are changing the economic model to give new players 8 million C bills accumulated while they play their first 25 matches. If you already have some matches under your belt you'll get a lump sum. Also, they are changing the economics of the trial mechs so they make just as much money and XP as purchased mechs. I still dig this game, even though I suck. I have three commandos working on elite and two cataphracts. I really like the cataphract. It has crappy center torso armor, but I like the autocannons and all the cataphract variants come loaded with ACs.

i updated my software yesterday. found I I now have 10 million credits cool.
I played 3 games and did 324 damage the most in one battle. ECM sucks - I couldn't see the three mechs standing right next to me - killing me on my radar. Apparently they want you to use the view screen.
Also when I shoot missels I loose my ECM. I don't really undertand what its for.

based on your last post John - looks like they were jamming me. I guess that is pretty effective.

Ha! You started playing MWO as soon as I started playing tanks again!
ECM is for jamming. It totally screws with missile locks. I usually look for an ally with the ECM tag above his head and stick with him.
I'm also a big fan of the LBX autocannon now. It's a shotgun. Easier to hit little mechs with, and fun to lay a big blast into the rear of a heavy mech at close range.

I got a hunchback with an AC20. I'm now doing more damage that I was. I'm maxed out the regular pilot experiance with my first hunchback variant. Having about 8 million of credits helps - that was very nice of them.
When have you been playing tanks? You need to join our clan, and get our Team Speak info! Be social!
