So with the wife heading back to work, I'm often left on my lonesome after about 9pm each night. To dry my tears I picked up the Ghostbusters game for the PS3. It's 6 years old (6!) and I got it used for 15 bucks. Been playing it over the last few nights and over half way done, and it's great! Written by Ackroyd and Ramis, brought back the entire cast to voice their characters, and the story ties in really well with the first two films. So far it feels like the Ghostbusters 3 movie that never got made.
Rachel bought us a PS4 the same day I got Ghostbusters (surprise!), so this will be the last game I play on the PS3. I don't think any of you have a PS3, but it's available on Steam and XBOX, and thought I'd give you a heads up. For a game that's been out for over half a decade. Timely!

As I recall, the book on the Ghostbusters PS3 game is exactly what you said - it's the movie that never got made.
I have a PS3, but it's not hooked up. It's in the office with a a 19" television, which is too small for video game playing. Which is fine, because it keeps me from buying video games all the time.
I've gotten to the part in Borderlands 2 where I've surpassed my PS3 experience. Also, my weapons are terribly underlevelled, so I'm having a tough go of it. Also it's turning in to one of those "can't get anything done in less than 90 minutes" things, so I suspect I'll be playing it less often.

So I finished The Last of Us on the PS4 (incredible game, one of the best I've ever played), and been messing with War Thunder and Diablo III, but the big event is Star Wars Battlefront. The Beta comes out either Wed. or Thursday... maybe even for the PC? Anyway, I'm looking forward to it. Let me know if you get in!

Have you purchased the expansion with Diablo III? I just moved into a new house this summer, so I'm still working on things with that, but have started to carve out some time for some gaming. I've gotten back into Skyrim a bit, but have opened up Diablo III and actually launched League of Legends, but it needed to do an update and by the time that was done, well, something else came up and pulled me away. I'm kind of looking forward to some time with that game you posted a little while back, Sword Coast Legends... that looked pretty interesting.

1) We have the Diablo Ultimate Evil edition (?) I think. Rachel and I started playing and got to level 20 and found there's a ton of stuff that we don't understand yet, but it's been fun. Then school really started and she works 80 hours a week so co-op game time has cratered.
2) I had high hopes for the Sword Coast game but I read some pretty scathing reviews and gave up on it.
3) congrats on the new house! Where is it?

I'm not sure what the Ultimate Evil edition is, but the expansion added a Paladin type class to the game. I've got a high level Monk and then the other classes are still pretty low level.
The house is here in Georgetown, KY. We love it! The back yard is huge, it has a walk out basement and lots of square footage. Got it for a reasonable price based on the fact that the dude before me completely blew it when remodeling the basement, so I've been concentrating my efforts there. Got about half of it stripped to the concrete floor and blocks and am going to start getting in the sub floor, framing the walls and getting the rough electrical ran.
... and that kind of bums me out about Sword Coast. I'll have to look up some reviews.

Wow! Awesome news about the house You should ask Horo about remodeling basements. He managed to drywall a mattress into his wall, Cask of Amontillado style. Maybe that's a feature you want to add?

That is awesome and definitely sounds like a Horo thing to do! While ripping down the ceiling, I didn't find any mattresses, but a Walter P38 from WWII did fall from the rafters... still checking on it, but that was quit a surprise!

So I played a lot of the Battlefront Beta. Didn't like it much at first, but once I understood how all of the objectives fit together I couldn't stop playing. Looking forward to the release next month. Any of you try it?

I played it on PS4, but its on XBox and PC as well, Beta just ended, so if you missed it you won't have a chance until it releases in November.

I just finished "Everybody Goes to the Rapture" on the PS4. It's available on a variety of platforms if you are interested. I liked it! It's slow, meditative, there is no fighting, action, leveling, but it's the most "adult" game I think I've ever played. It was perfect to play for a few hours at the end of the day to wind down. In the game you are able to explore an empty town after "the rapture" (though it's not exactly the event your typical evangelical Christian has in mind). I don't want to say to much in case any of you try it, but thought I'd pass it on. Next up for me is "The Disappearance of Ethan Carter"
